Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal information Verified Installers collects, why, who we share it with and your rights. It follows the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) guidance on privacy notices.
Who we are
Verified Installers runs this website and is the controller for the personal information described here. Email: hello@verifiedinstallers.co.uk
What we collect
- When you ask for quotes: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), postcode, what you need (for example an air source heat pump), whether you own the property, the installer you picked (if any) and the page you sent the request from.
- When you email us: your email address and what you write.
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We don't set cookies and we don't use advertising or tracking tools.
Installer listings show business details only. We don't show the names of sole traders.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To pass your quote request to up to 3 MCS-certified installers who cover your area, so they can contact you. Lawful basis: consent, which you give with the tick box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us; this doesn't affect what was shared before.
- To check that an installer got in touch and ask how it went (for example a short email a few days and a month after your request), and to keep the installers we send requests to reliable. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, to run a useful, trustworthy service. You can opt out of these emails at any time.
- To reply to you when you contact us. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
We don't sell your details to anyone else, use them for marketing, or make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
- Installers: up to 3 MCS-certified installers who cover your area, including the installer you picked. Each installer uses your details to quote and is responsible for how it handles them from then on.
- Service providers who process data for us: Cloudflare (hosting and form handling) and Google (we store quote requests in Google Workspace and receive them by email). Google Fonts is used to display the site's font, so your browser contacts Google when pages load.
- postcodes.io: when you type a postcode, your browser looks it up on postcodes.io to find installers near you. Only the postcode is sent.
- Anyone we are required to share with by law.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and the follow-up answers for 24 months from the request, then delete them. Emails to us are kept for 24 months after the conversation ends. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information (access);
- ask us to correct information you think is wrong (rectification);
- ask us to delete your information (erasure);
- ask us to limit how we use it (restriction);
- object to how we use it, where we rely on legitimate interests (objection);
- ask us to send it to you or another organisation in a usable format (portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time.
You don't usually have to pay, and we have one month to respond. To make a request, email hello@verifiedinstallers.co.uk.
